Aimée rieger - teaching
I enjoy working with a variety of students, from ages 4 to adult as a private teacher and as a chamber coach. My goal is to support each individual’s curiosity and learning style by finding ways to support their own strengths and weaknesses. I strive to educate the complete musician in a balance of the following pillars: Technique, Rhythm, Theory, History, and Artistry/Musicality. To do this, I maintain a myriad of tools and continuing research, and I understand that each student is built differently and learns differently. Specifically, I strive to demonstrate a solid foundation of healthy techniques comprised of proper body alignment, beautiful tone production, left hand technique, and bow technique. Students will learn posture and breathing tools so that they can communicate expressive musical ideas and demonstrate a growing level of confidence in performance. Practice and repertoire assignments are given depending on the level and interest of the student. Guidance with outside ensembles or undertakings is encouraged. In chamber music coachings, each member will be encouraged to read from the score for a complete perspective. As well, we will address effective ways to communicate to fellow colleagues for making musical decisions as a collaborative effort.
